Custom Contact Types and Patient Conversion Control in Fold Health's Provider Web App

Key Features

1. Control Over Conversion to Patient

  • Enable/Disable Conversion: Users can enable or disable the conversion of each custom contact type to a patient record via the settings.
  • Accessible Settings Interface: The setting to enable or disable conversion for each custom contact type is easily accessible within the settings interface under the custom contact type.

2. Seamless Data Transfer

  • Data Integrity: When a custom contact is converted into a patient record, all relevant information is transferred seamlessly.
  • No Data Loss: The conversion process ensures that no data is lost during the transition from contact to patient.

3. Handling Changes in Conversion Settings

  • Retain Converted Records: If a custom contact type's conversion setting is changed to disallow conversion, existing contacts of that type already converted to patients will remain unaffected.
  • New Contact Restrictions: Any new contacts added under a custom contact type with conversion disabled will not have the option to be converted into patient records.

4. Default Setting for Lead Contact Type

  • Pre-Enabled Conversion: The 'Convert to Patient' option for the Lead contact type is enabled by default.
  • Non-Editable Default: This default setting for the Lead contact type cannot be edited from the UI.

Example Scenario:

  1. As a user, you create a custom contact type named 'Prospect' and enable the 'Convert to Patient' option.
  2. You convert 70 out of 100 'Prospects' to patients.
  3. If you later disable the 'Convert to Patient' option for 'Prospects', the remaining 30 or any new 'Prospects' added will not have the conversion option, while the 70 already converted will remain as patients.

How it Works

1. Click Settings > Members/Leads > Custom Contact Types

2. Click + New or the edit icon on an existing custom contact type.

3. Adjust the conversion settings for each contact type to enable or disable conversion to patient records
